Threesixty Architecture have been appointed by the Muckle Brig Ltd to design the first single malt whisky distillery in Leith for over a century that will resurrect whisky production in the area.

Located right on the edge of the harbour, the site is next to The Royal Yacht Britannia and The Ocean Terminal Centre.

Muckle Brig's ambition is to deliver a building where first and foremost exceptional whisky is produced, combined with creating a unique and engaging visitor experience where the public will be allowed to get close to the distilling process and the end-product. The complex brief also calls for the design of service areas, offices and restaurant facilities.

A community consultation was held at the Ocean Terminal Port of Leith Distillery on Saturday 10th June to give the public a chance to view and comment on the proposals emerging to date. The Open Day was a great success, the response was very positive.
