Drum Capital Projects and Threesixty Architecture have converted Ballantyne House, a former office building in the centre of Inverness for lease to Travelodge as a 54 bedroom hotel. The project, contributes to the regeneration of Academy Street, bringing back in to active use redundant space, and provides much needed hotel rooms to the active Inverness market.
The 5 storey building occupies a very restricted site on one of the main thoroughfares through the city centre. This has required careful consideration of logistical and buildability issues. The site also forms part of the city centre conservation area so Threesixty have worked with Highland Council to develop an acceptable design which both meets client aspirations and the challenges of the location.
A ground floor café/bar introduces a new active frontage to the street. Completion is expected late 2017.
